Sedation
At Perio PLLC we offer both oral and IV conscious sedation to help fearful patients overcome their anxiety.
- Oral Medication taken about an hour before your appointment will help to eliminate mild anxiety and allow you to relax throughout your treatment.
- Intravenous Sedation involves the administration of a sedative through an intravenous catheter. This form of sedation is designed for individuals with more severe dental anxiety.
Oral sedation and IV sedation are not general anesthesia, (which we do not do in the office), and they are extremely safe. With oral and IV sedation, vital signs are monitored closely and recorded throughout the procedure.
